The Ivanhoe House for Boardgrove Architects
A project that was completed over several years the Ivanhoe House is a journey of colour through a reimagining of a federation era home.
“….typified by a sense of anticipatory stillness and bold pastel hues, they depict discrete scenes of human life…..”

The Datum is the defining design device at play.
Colours are split below or above it, the new additions to the home have hues on their ceilings, the original rooms are reimagined with colours adorning their walls.
The Movie Room has the embrace of a heavy blanket like curtain and the glow of a screen; the Gin Room amplified the play of light on cut glass.
A folded pale blue roof dances its way across the living space, its angular nature tempered by the softness of seating and the playful red pole.
The spaces connect effortlessly once again as the living leads into the kitchen. Ambient light is the equal hero to the colour blocks meaning there are no dominating ceiling fixtures
